2026 – The Year of the Master Builder
As we close the chapter on 2025, you may be left feeling a fog of confusion, or perhaps the weight of loss, or sensing the rumbles of a fresh, luminous energy ready to enter your life. 2025 has been a heavy year, weighing on hearts and minds, and for some it has brought a complete rewriting of personal and professional identity.
When an old cycle comes to a close, it can feel like pushing off from a familiar shore and setting sail toward a new destination you can’t quite see yet. As this year draws to a close, we’re not just ending a year, we’re finishing a whole 9 year cycle in preparation for a fresh new 9 year numerological cycle beginning on 1st January 2026. The intensity of 2026 is heightened even further by key astrological transits that will completely redefine the collective landscape for years to come, and I’ll be breaking those down later in this article. But in the meantime, 2026 marks far more than a fresh start, it signals the dawn of a new era and a complete transformation in how we live as a society, how we think as a collective and how we understand the world and our universe. An old paradigm is culminating and 2026 will weave in a whole new macrocosmic template.
To understand the current energies at play, cast your mind back to 2016 – 2017 – this would have been a significant year of endings, beginnings and adjustments. What changed in your life – relationships, job, location, career, health, identity? What nuggets of wisdom have you gained through making bad decisions or really good ones? For me this was a time when I realised I needed to move back to my old home. At the time I felt like I was going backwards, to an old life, an old location; I had some resistance but deep down I knew it was the right thing to do for a feeling of stability and financial relief. I began connecting more with nature, getting into gardening, doing up my house and building more stable foundations. When I look back now I can see the timeline of my life unfolding in a beautiful way but at the time I thought I would be lonely and disconnected from the life I had built just a few miles away. So often we see challenges as a battle, but in every challenge lies our greatest gifts. That’s the thing about life – we always end up with growth, even though at the time it can feel like we’ve failed or sucked at making something work. What isn’t for you will not last because you are always being guided back into alignment for your best growth. Fast forward to 2025, and here we are again, saying goodbye to old ways, sitting on the periphery of big decisions, letting go of the familiar, or choosing to pack our bags and embark on an entirely different trajectory.
Although there will be a noticeable shift in 2026, one of momentum and action, you may also feel a slight hangover and recovery from the remnants of 2025. 2025 was never going to be easy, charged with the weight of an old cycle closing and 2026 is set to bring its own challenges as the world moves through the ongoing process of restructuring toward a new humanity. Despite the constant blast of orchestrated news narratives, know that new structures are quietly building, good people are stepping into roles of influence and impact (behind the scenes) and a revolution is coming.
The key themes of 2026 are shaped by the slower-moving planets all shifting into very early degrees of their signs and will stay there for the long haul, most of them beyond a decade. While the impact may not be immediately felt, this energy is like closing an autobiography of personal and collective history and then opening the blank pages of a brand new book of possibilities. We caught glimpses of this new chapter in the first quarter of the year, but as the planets turn retrograde (go backwards) they returned briefly to their previous signs, offering us one last chance to tidy our inner and outer world before the full lift-off into 2026.
I’m not going to sugar coat it and pretend that the new year is going to bring utopia because that would be unrealistic, but I can assure you that 2026 will feel like movement and a readiness to pull back the curtains and step into the sun to sow the seeds you’re preparing to harvest through your new 9 year cycle, amplified by powerful astrological lines ups. This is the time to be realistic about what you want to bring with you for the next 9 years so be mindful of hanging on to people or situations that are making you unhappy.
So with all that said and in keeping this article at a readable length, I will break down the key astrological transits of 2026 for those of you who are curious, and I’ll add a nice summary at the end to wrap it all up.

If I had to summarise 2026 in just one or two words, I would describe it as the year of the “Master Builder.” New chapters are unfolding and with Saturn – the master builder planet, transiting through Aries the sign of self and new beginnings, I feel that title perfectly sums it up. Aries marks the start of the spring equinox where new shoots of life push through the soil. But with Saturn we are taking a more mature route, no cutting corners or big risks, decisions will be made with precision…or expect big lessons and backtracking. Also with many planets moving through the early degrees of air and fire signs, the intentions and actions you set now will influence and shape your path for years to come. The universe has your back, supporting those willing to pioneer, to lead and to act with courage; this is a year of initiation and has the potential to change the course of your life in amazing, unfathomable ways….if you’re prepared to be disciplined and take massive action. Afterall, the mighty oak tree was once a tiny acorn.
