A Self-Coaching Technique for Clarity and Abundance!
Each new year we move into a different vibration of change, transformation, completions and new beginnings. We’ve seen some incredible shifts happen in our personal lives from health recovery, relationship changes, moving home, to career evaluation. But many of you may still be feeling an overwhelming sense of confusion as to what’s next. Yep I know that feeling too, in fact even though I do what I love, I still get my fair share of discombobulation whilst deciding on my next new project. I often get many ideas and distractions so for me this year it’s all about effective time-management and staying focussed. Sometimes we forget what our outcome is and what it is we are striving for, so it’s good to get into the habit of regularly checking in with yourself.
Whether the previous year or last few months has been a stroll in the park or a turbulent tornado there is some comfort in knowing that you HAVE transformed. Each event we experience moves us towards a better place but we don’t always acknowledge this straight away. It’s important to look back and see how everything has lined up for you in the perfect way to lead you to different paths and people. Sometimes things have to happen out of our control in order to help us grow and evolve so we can formulate next steps. Wherever you are on your path, honour yourself because bravery and growth must be celebrated in all forms.
If you’re looking for a shift, ask yourself these questions:
- What went well for me last year, last week or last month?
- What can I celebrate?
- What changed for me?
- What did I learn?
- What will I do differently?
- What’s next?
The Risky Fear of Change
The anticipation of change can be both exciting and daunting, you likely know that something needs to shift but maybe you’re feeling a little stuck or fearful to take action. What if it doesn’t work? What if I fail? What if I am rejected? It is a known fact that those who stretch their comfort zone and set regular intentions reach their destination far more quickly than those who don’t. When you write out and speak about what it is you want, the subconscious mind takes you towards your ideas – but only if you are willing to take some action as well! Take some time to make some positive changes as you are the master of your own life.
Here is an exercise you can try when you have a little peace and quiet:
Grab an A4 pad and write each question at the top of each page or put them into a mind map. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time and space to write. You can also come back to this each day for a week or month if necessary.
1. What would you like to BE?
e.g be happy in my job in……
Be promoted to……by……(date)
Be living in…….by (date)
2. What would you like to DO?
e.g do a hobby that I love which is…..
do a skydive in Brazil in the month of….
do more for myself such as………………….
3. What would you like to HAVE?
e.g I would like to have a pay rise by……(date)
I have won an award in………
I have achieved my weight loss goal of……..by (date)
Write out a list of actions that you can take to move you towards each intention and do this every day for 21 days so it becomes a daily habit. Over the duration of this time you will move towards your goals and outcomes because the mind takes action on what it is you want!
